Hopkins Captures Lead Early To Defeat 13AA Spartans

13AA Spartans fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-10 loss to Hopkins on Friday. Hopkins scored on a double by #27, a double by #13, a single by #5, and a wild pitch in the first inning.

Despite the loss, 13AA Spartans did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Hopkins had 16 hits on the way to victory.

Hopkins captured the lead in the first inning. Hopkins scored one run when #27 doubled with zero outs in the first inning.

13AA Spartans scored four runs in the sixth inning. 13AA Spartans's big inning was driven by a single by Matthew Kuefler, a fielder's choice by Maxx Grovum, and a single.

Hopkins scored four runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Hopkins came thanks to a single by #16, a triple by #29, and a stolen base.

Brent Holzem, Justin Roitman, Grovum, Kuefler, and Casey Seidl each collected multiple hits for 13AA Spartans. Holzem went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead 13AA Spartans in hits. Holzem led 13AA Spartans with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.

#5, #17, #27, #29, and #25 each collected multiple hits for Hopkins. Hopkins stole 13 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. #5 led the way with four.
