13A Spartans Falls To Mankato Black On Walkoff

A walk-off left 13A Spartans on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Mankato Black on Friday. The game was tied at three with Mankato Black batting in the bottom of the seventh when Brenden Lysne walked #6 to drive in a run.

13A Spartans took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Aaren Schmotter drove in one run when he doubled.

Mankato Black evened things up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run for Mankato Black.

Schmotter led 13A Spartans with two hits in three at bats.

Mankato Black had 11 hits in the game. #6 and #15 each collected multiple hits for Mankato Black.

13A Spartans fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-7 loss to Plymouth Wayzata Gold on Saturday. Plymouth Wayzata Gold scored on a groundout by #3, a single by #34, and a single by #2 in the first inning.

Despite the loss, 13A Spartans did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Plymouth Wayzata Gold had 11 hits on the way to victory.

Plymouth Wayzata Gold captured the lead in the first inning. #3 grounded out, scoring one run.

13A Spartans scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Kainen Nelson, a single by Anthony Preuss, and a single by Wyatt Rosendale.

Plymouth Wayzata Gold scored six runs in the third inning. The big inning for Plymouth Wayzata Gold came thanks to a single by #4, a double by #44, and a stolen base.

Preuss, Connor Mangan, and Grant Burling each collected multiple hits for 13A Spartans. Nelson, Mason Ostebo, Burling, Aaren Schmotter, Mangan, Rosendale, and Preuss each drove in one run to lead 13A Spartans.

#2, #17, #12, and #44 each collected multiple hits for Plymouth Wayzata Gold. Plymouth Wayzata Gold stole 23 bases during the game as six players stole more than one. #44 led the way with six. Plymouth Wayzata Gold didn't commit a single error in the field. #44 had one chances in the field, the most on the team.
