IGHBA is once again partnering with IGH Parks & Rec and the Simley HS baseball coaching staff to bring you the 2018 IGHBA Coaches/Parent Clinic being held at the VMCC on March 10th, 2018 from 9 am – 12 pm. This is a FREE event and all past/present/future coaches are invited to attend along with any parent who will be having a player participate in this year’s IGHBA traveling, IGHBA VFW/Legion, or IGH Parks & Rec season.

The clinic will consist of approximately 90 minutes of classroom time and 90 minutes of demonstration time. Classroom time will consist of two presentations and one question and answer session with a panel. We are extremely excited to have Simley AD, Will Short, as one of our guest speakers along with current Simley HS baseball coach Zach Hendrikson. Both speakers will give insight on what it takes to coach a youth team, running effective practices, dealing with disciplinary issues, making youth sports fun, and more. Each speaker will present for approximately 30 minutes with the open discussion with the panel to immediately follow. The panel will consist of Mr. Short and coach Hendrikson along with IGHBA President Jeff Baglio and IGHBA Vice President Jesse Krebs. Following the panel, coach Hendrikson and his staff and players will walk you through some of the drills that we’ll be teaching this coming season and drills you can do at home to help your player improve.

We encourage as many present/future coaches to attend along with all parents. This clinic is meant to give you insight on what it takes to be one of our coaches and help everyone understand what we are trying to accomplish as the season moves along. This will also give you a chance to ask questions about situations that may arise and how to deal with them effectively. It’s also a chance to network with other IGH baseball coaches and share ideas on how to keep moving IGH baseball in the right direction.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on March 10th. Even though this event is free, registration is required in order for us to properly plan for space allocations.
